Now you have to understand that all these 5 steps are really important for any project to run smoothly. Whenever you have been assigned a project, you should first set the base for the initiation and check out the details associated with it. The triggering of the first step would be called as the initiation. Sometimes, people take ages to being a project and this could lead to unwanted stalling of the project.
The next phase would be planning. Here, even before you start executing the sequential steps, it gets important to plan the processes ahead. A lot of projects which either fair or get delayed happen because of inefficient second phase. It is important to sit with the team and plan the next moves and let each of the contributing members understand their role. Until and unless you have a clear action plan, how are things even going to work out?
The third stage would be execution. Once you have the whole blueprint ready, you will need to start executing them. Simply spending time planning endless tasks and executing none is never going to reap any kind of advantage. When you have made the blueprint ready, you then need to make sure that your plans are put into action.
The next stage would be monitoring. Often what we plan and what gets executed do not really tally. In such cases, it is important to monitor the different details. Until and unless you keep an eye on the different millstones and check if the sub-segments are being executed in a timely manner, things won’t work out the way it is supposed to.
The final phase is the control wherein you watch the deliverables and check the action to be taken. If you find that the final outcome is in tandem with the projected outcome, you can exit the project. If changes are needed or feedback has to be sought, the right controls need to be implemented and accordingly, the action has to be taken.
So, it is really important to get a clear idea regarding how the project should be carried out. When you give your best and you are willing to work on the dynamics of the project in an efficient manner, your company should be able to witness the right kind of results.
